ARTIST STATEMENT

I create pictures because of their power to express feelings, ideas and their ability to explore unknown territories both inwardly as well as outwardly but more importantly because of their power to seduce. Painting’s and drawing’s willingness to be transformed, both in light and matter, is what I look for in order to establish a deeper connection between my pictures and the memories and feelings of the audience. Creating a picture is more like creating a door and inviting the audience in an old yet new place, a place of poetic reverie.
